what can cause an oil spill?

Oil spills happen when people make mistakes or are careless. in fact there several things that can cause an oil spill like terrorist trying to make a point to the country,
or sometimes they might sail into shallow water and then try to go back into deeper water without checking the the haul of the ship for cracks or leaks.
